CHILD DEVELOPMENT IN CHILDREN OF SUBLEVELS I AND II INQUITO

This study focuses on child development in children from sublevels I and II in the city of Quito, Ecuador, after the COVID-19 pandemic. The main objective is to assess the progress of children in various comprehensive areas of development and address identified deficiencies. The Denver II Test is proposed for determining child development in children from these sublevels. The methodology used is a descriptive, correlational, and field research approach, employing both quantitative and qualitative methods. The sample consists of a total of 320 children from sublevels I and II, evaluated in both public and private educational institutions from different sectors of Quito. The results show that the majority of sublevel I children are within the normal range of development, while 75% of sublevel II children exhibit appropriate development.
However, some children display indicators of short stature and severe thinness. Regarding
nutrition, it is noteworthy that 72% of parents include healthy foods in their children’s diets, while 28% omit certain foods. In conclusion, this study highlights the importance of assessing and addressing child development in sublevels I and II of Quito, with an emphasis on early education and proper nutrition.
