Abstract

This paper presents an overview of the theoretical foundations of computer vision, the application areas and tools and programming languages "‹"‹commonly used in automation and development of computer vision-based technologies. Besides the activities of this important discipline is exemplified through several selected success cases coming the literature mainly from relevant books and scientific papers.
